Which surgical method is right for me?
Harvesting methods for beard transplantsFUT (Strip)
FUE

A strip of scalp is taken from the back of the head,
and healthy follicles are transplanted where needed
Only the follicles needed are extracted one by one
from between the hairs, without an incision
※ FUT and FUE differ only in how follicles are harvested — neither is overwhelmingly better.
The right method is determined by diagnosis, based on your scalp condition and stage of hair loss.
Honoring the thick texture of beard hair
Selective use of thick hairs
A beard is made of short, thick single-hair follicles.
Using the multi-hair follicles that make up most scalp hair would upset the beard’s overall harmony.
That is why only carefully selected single-hair follicles are used for beard transplants.

To keep the beard’s natural form and maximize naturalness,
hairs are implanted to match your existing beard’s growth direction.
If grafts are placed without considering growth direction,
they can tangle with existing beard hairs and look unnatural.
Angle and curl make the difference
Implantation that follows the beard grain

Unlike scalp hair, beards grow close along the skin.
We adjust the implant angle so each graft grows
flat along the skin, true to how beards naturally sit.

The tip of each beard hair curves toward the skin.
To honor this, we orient the curl of every
single graft as it is implanted.

MOJELIM Beard Transplant Q&A
- 01
How long does swelling around the lips last?
Larger swelling can last about a week, and minor swelling up to a month. An ice pack, and sleeping on your back with your head above your heart, help minimize it.
- 02
When can I wash my face after surgery?
Both face washing and shampooing are possible from the day after surgery. Direct contact with the implant area, however, should wait until the grafts are secured — about day 10.
- 03
The area around the lips is sensitive — I'm worried about pain.
Because the face is rich in nerves, the procedure is performed under sedation. There is very little pain during surgery, and any discomfort afterwards can be managed with painkillers.
- 04
How long does beard transplant surgery take, and how many hairs?
About 2–3 hours, with 200–1,200 hairs transplanted, under local anesthesia with sedation.
- 05
When is the result complete?
The result develops over about one year.
- 06
Who is beard transplantation right for?
Those who want to balance a protruding mouth or angular jaw, express personality through a beard, or raise overall beard density.
A differentiated surgical system

From consultation to surgery
One surgeon, start to finish
Q
Does the surgeon ever change to someone else mid-surgery?
A
At MOJELIM, your surgeon personally operates from the start of surgery to the end.

One surgeon takes responsibility for your surgery from beginning to end.
Because one surgeon handles everything from consultation to surgery, results are more natural with higher graft survival.
Medical staff at peak condition
Q
MOJELIM performs many surgeries — how do you manage your surgeons' condition?
A
Our surgeons follow a 'minimum surgery schedule,' entering every operation in peak condition.
FUT / FUE surgery
1–2 per day
Surgeries per MOJELIM surgeon, per day
A surgeon’s condition can affect the safety and results of that day’s patients.
To maintain personal condition and surgical skill,
each MOJELIM surgeon performs only one or two operations per day.
No inexperienced surgeons
Q
Could a new doctor be operating on me?
A
Even new doctors complete a two-year training period before performing surgery.

At MOJELIM, a doctor may perform surgery only after at least two years of training.
(Two years of residency after obtaining a medical license)
During those two years, each doctor takes part in about 1,000 surgeries (roughly 4,000 hours).
This training system is how MOJELIM promises consistently satisfying results, whoever your surgeon is.

Surgical efficiency
Q
How many staff take part in a surgery?

In hair transplantation, the golden time between harvesting and implantation is a key factor in graft survival.
To shorten surgery time and raise efficiency, one surgeon, three nurses and two to three follicle technicians —
up to seven staff — work on a single patient’s surgery.
